Audition Announcement: March 17th, 2025
Show Dates: Rehearsals: June 23rd – August 6th, Performances: August 7th-10th (FULL CALENDAR FOUND HERE)
Location: All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Hanifl Performing Arts Center in White Bear Lake, MN 4941 Long Ave, White Bear Lake, MN 55110
Age: CURRENT 9th-12th graders for the 2024/2025 school year
Fee: Due to the educational nature of this show, a registration cost of $325 is required if cast. Please note that CPA encourages ALL families and individual performers to request a full or partial scholarship if the registration cost is a barrier. We do not want cost to be a barrier for any actors cast. Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady devises a plan to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung.
MEAN GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL EDITION – CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
We encourage actors of all races, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and backgrounds, to audition for this production. CPA and the Legally Blonde Production team are currently looking to cast between 20-25 actors.
AUDITION INFORMATION
All auditions will be hosted in person at the Hanifl Performing Arts Center on March 17th, 2025. You can sign up for a 30-minute audition slot HERE and fill out the audition form HERE. Please prepare 60 seconds of a musical theatre selection in the style of the show and a 30-60 second monologue. All auditioners should bring sheet music or a recorded accompaniment track with them to the audition.
If you are not available to audition in person, please send the requested materials above to Managing Education Director, Maddie Ripperger at maddier@childrensperformingartsmn.org by March 17th at 4:00 PM.
CALLBACKS
Callbacks will be hosted on Thursday, March 20th from 6:00-9:00 at the Hanifl Performing Arts Center in White Bear Lake, MN. If you are not available for this date this will NOT affect casting and we will work to make other arrangements for your callback. Please make sure this date is written on your conflict form if you are not available.
INTIMACY NOTICE:
Children’s Performing Arts has hired Mason Tyer, a qualified intimacy director (“ID”) to work with the cast. The actors will work with the ID to play within the actors’ boundaries.
***No intimate acts will be required in auditions or callbacks.
