Spotlight on a Cause is part of Children’s Performing Arts leadership programming. Every year the students put on a production to bring awareness to the chosen cause. Cast and crew members take time during the rehearsal process to learn about the cause, determine what they could do about the cause, and how they will make a difference. The goal of this program is to teach our students about the world around them, how they can make a difference and how to become future leaders within our community.
Another important feature of the Spotlight on a Cause program is CPA’s partnership with Lakeshore Players Theatre. This allows students the chance to work with professionals from around the Twin Cities metro as cast members and mentors. The professional artists perform a role in the show as well as providing feedback and a question and answer session for students about being a professional artist.
