Clare grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She later attended college at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa – where she received her BA in Theatre and English. In her time at Luther, Clare cultivated a love for teaching theater while working as a TA for an introductory acting class. She later went on to work as a teaching artist with St. Croix Festival Theatre during a summer internship the summer after her junior year.
After graduation, Clare moved to the Twin Cities to join Children’s Performing Arts as a summer Education Intern and has since been hired on as their Education and Production Coordinator. In addition to her work with CPA, Clare also works locally as a teaching artist with the Zephyr Theatre.
Her combined background in English and theater makes Clare particularly passionate about helping children cultivate the tools to work collaboratively to tell stories on stage. Clare believes that it is incredibly important that kids are provided environments in which they can express themselves artistically, grow their imaginations, tell stories, and have fun.
When she isn’t working with CPA, Clare loves long walks, printmaking, and spending time with her cat, Tofu!
